Being 100% solar-powered with no need to refuel makes the Silent 80 ideal for long trips, for which she has been specifically equipped, with a second steering position on the flybridge, a powerful generator and two 250kW lifetime maintenance-free engines that offer a top speed of 16-17 knots and a cruising speed of 6-8 knots.

These powerful electric motors combine with the largest battery bank to ensure that higher speeds can be sustained over long periods at sea while maximizing the amount of energy stored for backup, to be deployed as and when needed.  There is a 25-year guarantee on the solar panels and an 8-year guarantee on the battery bank. 

Other longer journey amenities include a water-maker, heating and air conditioning. Additionally, the Silent 80 comes with a hydraulic flybridge roof, a lowerable bathing platform, and a powerful tender for shore excursions.
